My mother was a 13 year old girl when she and her family were 'liberated' by the Red Army, in a German occupied part of Ukraine. The horrors that she and her family faced at the hands of the Russians wouldn't still resonate so much with me, if it wasn't so completely disregarded by historians. May God have mercy on the many mindless Nazi killers. May He also have mercy on the horrific Russians who spat in my mothers face & called her Hitler as she begged for milk to help her dying mother.
