The say if while listening to this record, you shake a leg, raise a glass and shout out "Irene", Booker will know and he'll raise his eye patch, wink at you and smile. This version is from the "lost" ABC Paramount tapes.

  • Hmmmmm...the letter "K" should not be allowed in a New Orleans alphabet...first there is Katrina, now Katia...dare I say that my daughter's name is Kate and mine Kathleen?!!! Believe me, only prayers for your continued safety are coming from me...

  • @MultiKZB We're gonna be fine. There may be a few problems outside of the levee zones and along some of the smaller rivers but it appears at worse, 60 mph winds and 20 inches of rain. That's a lot of rain but we've gone thru that before with just a few minor problems. I have a big ass natural gas generator to run my entire house so between DirecTV and my local station, I should have no probemlo watching the LSU-Oregon game tonight. Thanks for the prayers anyway, I'm sure some will need them.

  • Thank heavens my daughter is safe in North Carolina...lots of wind and rain...I warned her abouit the possibility of a storm surge once the hurricane passed...

  • @MultiKZB I am glad to hear she is OK. Of course now we have a bit of a threat in the Gulf of Mexico however, I think it just may be a big "rain" event and you'd be surprised as to how well most of this area can handle up to 20 inches a rain in one day. At this point, "dat" appears to be our worse case scenario. At the moment, my bigger concern is Katia out in the Atlantic. "Dat" one may be a bit tricky and worthy of keeping an eye on.

  • Darlin (I can say that can't I since you are in New Orleans?), despite being ever so beaten up by life, he found joy in his piano and shared it with all of us...this guy would have almost made me a "groupie"...and I am pretty reserved...well, most of the time...ok...maybe some of the time!!! Now how about taking your wife out to dinner and I do not mean Burger King or some other fast food place!

  • @MultiKZB Well, I have some good inside news about Mr. Booker but I have been sworn to secrecy but there may be an early Christmas present for all of us.

  • @MultiKZB fair enough, but then we'd just end up sitting around listening to James Booer, Ermit Ruffins and Mac Rebina records

  • @9thWardJukebox So glad to hear that...the media hypes, I know...almost rethought about relocating...lol...it will take time, some visits, but I know that New Orleans and its music is where my heart is and has been for decades...I will be rooting for LSU!

  • DIS VERSION BE DA BOMB!!!!

  • Great...but do not think that I have forgotten about dinner! (...and yes, I have been listening to James since my post...thank heavens I have no classes for the fall term.)
