  • 4:13 Have you ever noticed that after evangelicals get 'saved' they get an extremely deep seated mean streak towards anyone in the 'out-group'? If you listen to the kid's voice, after he got 'radically saved' it changes not in tone from gentleness and joy, to what I think is anger and frustration.

I think it's because he's suffering cognitive dissonance. 2:23 He looked up on Google: "contradictions in the Bible" and just decided that none of it was real. He's not ready to part with God yet.

  • @Water4Jeremiah- your right Water! They may believe they are saved from sin but still are not saved from themselves. Instinct is pretty tough to kick. I still have not done it very well. LOL Thanks for watching.

  • I agree with many of your points, especially that virtue or righteousness requires action too. Another way of putting it is true believing naturally brings out a goodness toward others, neighbors&enemies. Not all christians "in name" are "true" or virtuous. Likewise, atheists can be good and seek justice. The mystery of "salvation" (and faith as a gift) is another topic... we are not "saved" by our own efforts. God takes the initial step, whether or not his action is believed.

  • Good answer!

  • @wayman29 Another exemplary video!

Re: Instinct, Sin - some try and eject the thorn in their flesh, indeed, to run from some of their own being. Not only is this fruitless, but it is to deny the value of a created thing - to lack gratitude for creation.

I might've mentioned this before: the Yetzer HaRa (evil inclination AND The Satan) in Judaism is given respect, and purpose, necessity; that it is integral, and without it, humankind would have no drive to accomplish anything.

    Peace!

  • I suggest bourbon.
