  • Nice series, but in this case we germans have a slightly different view on the part of the SAS officers. No question, their assistance was very helpful and they were the only who had these lovely flashbangs, but thats it, sorry.

I like the Brits but they tend to overesteem their own role in this operation. The operation itself was carried out only by GSG9 officers.

But I'm sure the SAS would have performed as good as the GSG 9 did. They had their own chances to prove their value

  • Nice to see that the SAS let you have a play after Munich :)

  • good one, Taffnp ;)

By the way, the GSG 9 was founded BECAUSE Munich was such an desaster, so the government realised that we need a special operations team.

GSG 9 was founded a few months after Munich

  • GSG9 are a pretty elite bunch. They have come a long way from the early anti terror unit of a German in a helmet wearing tracksuit bottoms waving a luger and showing the world on TV that he was about to storm the building :) Regardless of what country you come from we are all against terror and must never give into it.

  • @TheJustwatching123 I am Not A German Or Brits or American. Please don't touch that part of the history, It's long gone.

  • @BlackBlade1986 The SAS taught GSG9 everything they know.

  • @angler1029 Lets face facts here and lads this is a fact! the S.A.S. wrote the book on special forces lets just look at the history of there opps , now gsg9 people say who ? what? someone says S.A.S,. they know the name end of chat .

  • @kazzie26 Are you a member of the SAS or why are you talking so big?

  • @BlackBlade1986 no it obiously wasnt carried out solely by gsg9 because the dude in this series who was one of the men was sas and he was involved

  • @kazzie26 Everyone likes to think they are the best, but there is no denying the shitloads of ideas that were ripped off and adapted by American and English Military from WW2 Germany.

  • @BlackBlade1986 The Germans involved with making the documentary weren't so reticcent... They were very happy to credit the SAS's involvement ;-)

  • @BlackBlade1986 Barry Davies was on the flight as a rescuer - don't downgrade the SAS!
