It depends on what do you want to do with it.
I mean linux is like a latex suite it can be formed and adjust to the workflow you want. On other systems you need to adjust to your operating system.

KDE is my favourite desktop environment. I started with 3.4 and I'm still using it. I've tried GNOME, Unity, xfce and LXDE but KDE still wins my heart
