It's a fantastic ending, quite satisfying.

In fact, I saw it as a child, and I only remembered the ending. So, when I watched it again, I was caught totally off guard by the rest of the movie, and how bizarre it was.

It's an old Lullaby called "Down in the Willow Garden" I couldn't buy it so I learned to play it on the keyboard, a simple yet very powerfull moving peice of music. The basic chords to it are A major F# minor and E major.

Actually, it is an old murder song, not a ballad, known in the bluegrass, Scottish, and Irish music genre's as "Rose Connelly".

Down in the willow garden
Where me and my love did meet
There we sat a corting
My love feel off to sleep.
I had a bottle of burgandy win
My true love did not know
I planned to poison that dear little girl
There on the banks below.

I drew my saber through her
It was an aweful sight.
I threw her in the river
And then I ran in fright.........

My father often told me
His money would set me free.
If I would murder that dear little girl
Whos name was Rose Connelly.

Now he sets in his cabin home
Wiping his tear dimmed eyes.
gazing at his own dear son
Upon the gallows high.
My race is run beneath the sun
My sentense is waiting for me.
For I did murder that dear little girl
Whos name was Rose Connelly.

That is the words to the song.
