Come home to Meadowvale, Mississauga http://www.gailsellshouses.com Catch a glimpse of the community of Meadowvale located in northwest Mississauga, Ontario. Enjoy the numerous biking and hiking trails, community centre, library, shopping and lively theater.
The village of Meadowvale was established in the 1820s by Irish immigrants from the state of New York led by John Beatty. Many different settlers moved through the area at Old Derry Road West and Second Line West. In the village's early years, the main industry was milling with the mills drawing power from the Credit River. In 1831, Beatty sold his land to James Crawford who, like John Simpson, opened saw and carding mills in the village. Francis Silverthorn took over and expanded Crawford's mill Complex in 1844. In the same year, George Ball, a local blacksmith, built Meadowvale's first hotel. After Silverthorn fell into financial trouble, Gooderham and Worts took over his mills and prospered.

In the late 1950s, Highway 401 began construction south of Meadowvale Village and was opened several months later.
Meadowvale has two lakes, Aquitaine and Wabukayne, both of which were largely man-made. A system of parks and trails connects the two lakes, which are located about 1.5 kilometres apart.

Meadowvale also has a series of bike trails, offering access to, among other things, schools, the Meadowvale Town Centre and the Meadowvale Community Centre.
