The song is Vera Lynn's "Try a Little Tenderness"

A lovely scene of the bomber sapping the tanker of its "precious bodily fluids".

The song is indeed "Try a Little Tenderness," but I can't find any documentation of Vera Lynn being associated with it (although it's been recorded dozens of times). Vera Lynn's performance of "We'll Meet Again," however, is used (very chillingly, if you ask me!) at the end of the movie.

The titles were a temporary draft for a rough cut but Kubrick decided it looked kind of psychotic so he used it for the final edit.

Notice the typo at 1:24. "Base on the book" s/b "Based on the book".

actually brochacha, Vera Lynn didn't sing this shit. She sang "We'll Meet Again" which closes the Movie with the Doomsday explosion, but this song is not that song.
