Pokemon Heart Gold — 8th gym vs. Clair

Ok back to the battle. I took quite some time to prepare for this battle because I need a different strategy from the old GS due to the change of battle system. In the past I'll catch a Jynx and Ice Punch most of the time throughout the gym but since Ice Punch is no longer a special attack I have to give up Jynx.

As a substitution, I use Seadra. However! I made a huge mistake on forgetting to pause its evolution so I cant learn Dragon Pulse at level 42.....I ended up using almost all of my money to buy the Ice Beam TM for it. I had planned to use Ice Beam but not on this stage.......

About the strategy, Choice Spectacle Ampharos is really strong. XDDD And luck was by my side as well. Critical hit on Gyarados and one of the Dragonairs, freezing a Dragonair for one turn and the super low accuracy of Kingdra's attacks. Half of the Hydro Pump were missed and so did the Hyper Beam. That was certainly a huge advantage for me. No wonder she doenst recognize my ability XDDD

Oh I'm sorry that I forgot to record the part which she gives me the TM. I'll make sure I wont miss out that part in the SS version.

after you get ampharos you can coast through the whole game really easily just make it learn thunder punch, ice punch, fire punch and i forget wut its called but the fighting-type punch (mach punch maybe?) ampharos is pretty much unbeatable with these 4 moves

@kendokid93 Speed is a bit of a problem.......unless you fight everyone just with it and level it up to a very high level XD

@loch3124 i beat her with my lv 38 typloison,lv 34 starmie,lv 30 noctowl,lv 32 venomoth ,lv 32 sunfoora and lv 30 tauros :D just a few mins ago though i got lucky my starmie raped her first dew pokes w ice beam and thunder bolt traded thunderbolt from plantium and i bought ice beam :D

@MRxBlackxRave Well yeah probably a bit. Maybe due to the fact that in the old versions I often had hard times fighting this gym so naturally I try to train a bit more.
