  • wow dude this video really helped me out. ive been reading a manga called 'hikaru no go' lately and ive been dying to try this game out. but yeah this vid has helped a lot more than any online instruction manual. so bravo. this vid is an insta fav

  • Thanks

  • Och well ... decided to type in "weiqi" in the YT search box and click on the first video...

Didn't expect that it would be painful for me to watch this. I played Go on KGS and after a while you become addicted to it and it really starts to hurt your mind. I don't know why but this game has a kind of "dark element" in it... . I'm glad that I don't play it anymore. It looks so harmless but in my opinion it is an emotional torture instrument.

  • Torture? Why? ...well, sometimes you may get mad when you lose, mad about your mistakes or bad moves, or feel like your opponent looks down on your moves (mostly when you play online), and so on. But Go is a game that you can enjoy trying to find the best move each time to win. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, that's just the part of the game.

  • can't black place a black stone in the middle of the white areas? I've always been confused with liberties...

  • for every match you lose, even if it is always random opponents, is it true you get much better especially playing with no handicaps? i was playing someone and i have been playing for about 6 months and he was playing for 2 years and he beat me and said that i played well, is it true that when you play tough opponents with no handicaps u get better faster?

  • Just play on yahoo to learn the game is not necessarily over at the point stated in this video. Well, the game of go might be over, but a number of players (too many) keep filling in spaces with the end of jacking up (manipulating) their rating level.

  • @righteous0warrior i know what you mean but im just saying this in case they really think these are the only rules,No offence.

  • @hitmankiddo Oh no doubt. I am not saying this vid is going to turn you into a Go sage or anything. But it really helps giving the noobs (like I was when I wrote that message) some firm rules to stand on.

Like I said, you won't become a 9 dan or anything watching this, but if you are not familiar with the rules, then this vid is a MUST on the list of Go related things to watch.

  • @righteous0warrior but there are still many more rules to cover.i like this video though

  • i love go. i can always beat my friends, but went to a tournament at a mall about a year ago and couldnt compete. havent played much latley, but still love it.

  • helped me, thanks!

  • Thanks very much! This really helped me understand the rules!
