I love this. This first time I saw this movie I smirked because it was so obvious Holmes was toying with the big guy. Then I was delighted to see Holmes actually fight and kick ass. I don't adhere to a specific style because as many people have mentioned nothing is fool proof. Me and my dad were pleasantly surprised that this kind of movie had some decent technique in it. Anyway thanks for posting this.

If Sherlock holmes" HAD" practiced Wing Chun, all the chunners would be wearing deer stalkers.
Thankfully he did not. He had foreseen mixed MMA (Bartitsu)by many decades.

One thing Guy Ritchie definitely knows how to do is put an A-lister in a bare knuckle boxing match and make him look good. :-)

@antonyneal I think no martial art is entirely fool-proof. I used elements of wing chun when I worked on the doors and it was quite effective. I went home each night intact.

Looks more like the empty hand form of escrima.

@DjNiqueed yes indeed a pak sao hit :)

People are calling this wing chun because the actor who portrayed Sherlock Holmes(Robert Downey Jr) took Wing Chun for years. You can see it in some of his strikes, but the character's canon style of fighting IS Bartitsu.

In the slowmotion he did an elbow, but after he didn't do it anymore. Did I see it correctly or am I wrong?
Where did that come from? hahahaha
