This is a program funded by Shell Canada. It focuses on improving the Environmental Awareness of newcomer youths and to enhance a better development of future environmental programs. This program is to allow newcomer youths to pay more attention on our current environment and to increase their environmental awareness through trainings and practices. Our program's training involves a new concept called "Train-the-trainers"; youths are responsible to teach other youths about this message and knowledge in order to increase the efficiency of this program.
What we do:
The group of Environmental Awareness Youth Ambassadors will be educated through a series of workshops and on-site training. Moreover, various outreach activities will be conducted throughout the program in order to educate others. Its fun and rewarding. If you are a student or know a student who still needs community service hours, this program will provide you 40 hours (provided you attend all the sessions).
The program is divided into 3 phases:
Phase I- summer 2010 (full)
Phase II- September- November/ December
Phase II- November/December- April

If you are interested in this program and are youth between the age of 15-24, please email cng@tccsa.org or visit www.tccsa.on.ca for more information.
