Elmer 'Geronimo' Pratt, was a high ranking member of the Black Panther Party, who fought for African-American liberation during the Civil Rights movement. In 1972, Geronimo was imprisoned in solitary confinement for the murder of Caroline Olsen, a 27-year-old elementary school teacher. He was freed 27 years later in 1997 after being wrongly imprisoned. On June 2nd, 2011, Geronimo died of a heart attack in his adopted country of Tanzania. He fought for Black rights and liberation up to his death. Rest In Peace.
