I disagree a bit with "Avoid sensitive topics like politics, religion and sexual orientation". It's like a way to see if the person you're talking to is open-minded. Everyone has its own opinions, it shouldn't be a problem for anybody, we're all different. Then we like it or not, but that's all. But for sure arguing about that topics is not a good idea.
