  • Good job! What's 2:37?

  • @martinpatriot

It`s the Memorial "Tranchee des Bayonettes" near Verdun.

Refer to the Wikipedia-Article on teh Verdun battle.

  • Thanks to you all for the kind comments.

marekzn - YOU just didn`t get the ponit - it would be worthless to explain it to you...so sad.

  • The german version by Wader is not more than a very poor imitation of the great original version...he changed the lyrics and the message of the song. For Wader, soldiers are apparently murderers and rapists.

  • No, it's aoldiers job to kill, not to murder. That's a difference, but I don't expect YOU to understand it...

And it's also not his job to rape. An Army is only effectice in combat if it is disciplined.

And to the songs: The Original by Eric Bogle is about what most soldiers really are: Victims of the war. Wader wrote his interpretation for the peace-movement in the 80's and he sings about a young soldier, who wanted to rape a girl...and that was not the intention of Eric Bogle!

  • dropkick murphys rock! good song...goooooood song....

  • "Drop Dead" - That's real pacifism, isn't it? But of course I understand, cause I know a Troll, when I see him - if you lack arguments, you have to insult your opponent. I would like to discuss this further with you, but you obviously lack the mental capacity for an argument among adults, so I fear that would be a waste of time...that's a real shame, but no real surprise.

  • um dude

    what are you talking about?

  • And to conclude it: You can like Waders version or not (I don't), but it has to be said, that his version of the song ist not true to the original by Bogle, which is covered here by the Dropkicks.
