Our cockatiel MUST HAVE HIS RUBS...at least that's what he repeats about 1,000 times a day.

He loves getting his head rubbed.

This video was shot straight through, then I cut out a lot of repetitious chatting. There's NO LOOPS OR REPEATS. K.C. rattled on for a good 10 minutes being "pretty" and wanting his RUBS.

One of the coolest sentences he made up is "That's pretty, but you can give me rubs." Crazy bird!

  • So cute! :) How old is K.C. currently?

  • @TheKTnAL He's 7 if I recall. Quite the ham and rather unusual in that he made up his own sentences.

  • Thanks also is it better having him sleep in his cage with a night blanket or leave the cage opened for him to find a place to sleep himself?

  • @theconnor7890 We've always put K.C. in his cage and covered it with a blanket. My wife is more "birdie" than I and she says that's the thing to do. Best wishes!

  • I got a new cockatiel a while ago and he's always on my shoulder and he loves rubs too but I was wondering, what age do they start talking at? This is an amazing cockatiel too.

  • @theconnor7890 Good job starting your 'tiel out with attention and affection. K.C. didn't say much of anything until around 6-9 months as best as I can recall. First he'd wolf whistle, Then he started blabbing and hasn't shut up since! Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • @redwillow88 Thanks. He's a very smart cockatiel and is normally sweet but gets grouchy when moulting. Thanks for watching and best of luck with your new 'tiel!

  • That is so bonding with him~~~neat. I just got me a cockatiel and am really looking forward to bonding with him

  • @apathy24 Thank you and welcome to the whacky world of Cockatiels. I think you will find, as I have, that very few cockatiels talk as much as KC does. I'm surprised he isn't more of a celebrity!
