Bit different to when I went to Calangute backpacking in 1976.
We literally were the only 2 on the beach.

@docludi How true-in 1975 after the hassle of the trip through Afghanistan, Iran & Pakistan this was a piece of heaven.

I spent 9 days in Calangute in May 2000 and only saw 7 europeans,had basically the whole beach to myself.Paid peanuts for an apartment with a pool.Great days.Less muggings and murder in those days...

I can't believe what I'm seeing!! In the 90's Goa was less built up,and much more beautiful.
