It's really a shame. LA was a great city back in the day, but the downtown area is just a shell of the greatness that it used to be. I'm from the Bay Area, and when I first toured around downtown LA I was shocked at how bad it was. I hope they can clean that up sometime.

Downtown LA is such a tragic wreck, this beautiful hotel is about the last vestige of dignity left to an area of town that has been over run by destitution and illegal immigration.

I went to L.A. in Sept. 08' We saw all the different Art Deco theatres! You look at them and it just takes you back to that era! My husband knows of my interest in the 'Black Dahlia' story and he had read up on this hotel. It was just so cool and wonderful to go in there. I was exploring all of the hallways, and corridors! :)

Unfortunately LA is probably the most segregated city in America, all whites and Asians flee to the West Side or the Valley and suburbs to raise their families and be able to walk down the street crime free.
Illegals and lower income Hispanics take the East and Compton and welfare plagued blacks take what's left.
Thus things like the 1992 King Riots can transpire because there is evident class segregation which translates for whatever reason into racial segregation.
LA is a racial timebomb
