SABRES FANS INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN HOCKEY TRADITION
Sabres Beard-a-thon to benefit The Buffalo Sabres Foundation
This playoff season, Buffalo Sabres fans can participate in the Stanley Cup Playoffs like never before. The Sabres Beard-a-thon is an opportunity for fans to grow their own playoff beard and raise money for charity. Proceeds from the 2010 Sabres Beard-a-thon will benefit The Buffalo Sabres Foundation.
Participants in the Sabres Beard-a-thon will invite family, friends and business associates to pledge their playoff beards. By joining the Sabres Beard-a-thon, fans pledge to maintain their beard as long as the Sabres remain in the playoffs. Fans who are unwilling, or unable, to grow playoff beards, can also pledge their favorite Buffalo Sabres player. For more information, or to enroll in the Sabres Beard-a-thon, please log onto www.beardathon.com/sabres.
Buffalo Sabres fans have always shown their passion for the team. Now they have a chance to show their loyalty to the team and raise money for a great cause, stated Michael Gilbert, Buffalos Director of Public Relations.
As an added incentive, the Sabres fan that raises the most money will win a team-signed jersey. Second place will earn an autographed Ryan Miller jersey, while third place will take home an autographed Tyler Myers jersey.
All donations to the Sabres Beard-a-thon are tax deductible.
