This beam pump really needed more counter weight, but they fitted a bigger motor instead, a Deutz 6 cylinder 913, this engine was also running on crude.

  • Yeah its all round bad, the twin disk clutch cops a hiding (that is most of the noise you can hear, the spigot bearing (even though not rotating) is stuffed and cousing that sound, the engine doesnt like it either and just wastes fuel. If you park the pump with the wieghts at the top it is really hard to get going again. Hopefully they will get some more weights soon.

  • Thats not good if you have add more horsepower to overcome from not having enough counterweight. Good way to wear out the gear box quicker.
