  • "Don't be a slave to no computer"... That was a good one.

  • @dixi4you

Yeah, I saw that movie 18 times in GDR-cinema.

It is because Harry Belafonte was a great singer for peace and harmony here in eastern Germany and around the world. He produced that movie. That's the reason why you could see that movie in GDR cinemas. ;)

I love this movie until now.

  • Lol

  • Why am i crying after see this again after 28 years

  • Man makes me feel im in my teens again, the price we pay to be capitalist. All the current rappers can kiss Mel ass coz he was the"King of rap"

  • FUCKIN HIPPIES!!!

  • melly mel went hard he was a head of his time back then..listen wat he was saying!! real shit

  • Sorry, make that 1984!

  • The film was shown the UK in 1983 but was not generally on the circuit. The bigger film here was 'Breakdance The Movie.' But 'Beat Street Breakdown' was a all round more edgy film. The soundtrack LP was release in the UK on Sugarhill Records if I remember right and the 12" mix of 'Beat Street' was superb but barely made the charts. Us DJs at the time were playing all this stuff to large audiences in the days when Jazz Funk and Soul was going too commercial.

  • @Dabeydoo62 Your telling me Melle Mel's verse is wack??? are you serious??? like f'real?? may i ask you why if you do? in case you say delivery, with lyrics that conscious i wouldn't give a damn if you were lil b' that is dope! lol
