Hillside 1988 nothing can touch it

Was this song used as the theme for the Great White North?

@TrustNo121000 I think the reason why he didn't is because his balls finally dropped and he can't do it anymore. His voice has changed.

It was awesome!

He had laryngitis :(

:( Martin didn't go into falsetto during the chorus. Oh well, it's still great.

I emailed Dave Bidini in January asking specifically if they were gunna play this at Massey. He said yes. But being out of the loop and in Tennessee, after they'd sold all the tickets, it kinda bummed me to realize I wouldn't get to see them. This is the first song that turned me on to getting Whale Music, and then everything else they did... Looks like it was a great show. But ah well, maybe in my next life.

For one concert Martin had the voice of a 'mere mortal'. It only took a couple of decades of fans thinking he was really an Alien, what with that impossible falsetto and all. I suppose the appropriate time for the myth to be dispelled was the last Rheostatics concert. They came down in 1988, did they come back in 2007? Am I stoned?...permanently
Hey jon1156.
The writer of this song, Martin Tielli, was often teased for writing this melody that was similar to the song the Hosers on the Great White North sang... however, it is not the same ;)
