Dan Mayo represents all that is great with a sport like this. In 1981, I had just wrestled the gym class, while 5 wrestlers and coach Davidson watched. I was victorious over the gym class and felt so proud of being the last one standing after 60 + wrestlers. I weighed about 200 lbs, coach Davidson asked me my weight, and then and went over to the wrestlers, and selected Dan mayo to wrestle me. I recognize the move that takes down Alger in this match, because I experienced it first hand.

my dad is bestfriends with royce and dan mayo my dad went to sachem he was the heavywieght wrestler for sachem royce comes over my house all the time and dan is so cool

i'm in a Alger camp right now this week and he has a style of talking just like his wrestling that is definately the Iowa style.
Being born and raised in Iowa i naturally love the hawks. so go Hawkeyes!
