Freetown 0001

After watching the documentary "Cry Freetown" by Sorious Samura I was inspired to write this song entitled "Freetown". The video collage and song are dedicated to the victims of the civil war in Sierra Leone, both those who were victims of the atrocities and the child soldiers who were forced to commit them. The war in "Fair Leone" raged from 1991 -2000. The victims were mutilated by the RUF (Revolutionary United Front) in order to terrorize the people out of support for the government and to prevent them from voting. The government troops were equally as abusive, terrorizing any and all they suspected of supporting the RUF.
