Anyways he didn't infect himself until after the events of RE0! So it doesn't matter what virus he took.

Noo, the G-Virus was reffered to the 'Birkin virus' which was the G-Virus.

The first showing of it was in RE2. But since rebirth told the story of wesker after he infected himself, he even says about the virus.
