Although I'm more known to post early/mid 80s concerts by Elton (that's my personal favorite era of his live performances), I am not immune to the other decades! This is a short, but very nice show by a young Elton! It is mostly a solo show, but Nigel and Dee join Elton onstage for "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On." The quality is rough-but-listenable (this came straight from a vinyl record), and it's complete! For all of the subscribers who love Elton's stripped down shows, and his higher youthful voice, this show should satisfy you! Elton sounds great, and delivers excellent performances of "Skyline Pigeon," and "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On."

ENJOY!!!

Note: Elton completely makes up lyrics during "Tiny Dancer." Since this before the song was recorded for "Madman Across The Water," I'll bet he was just working out the lyrics on stage.

  • I got this in a trade! This is quite a rare show!

  • Sounds like the recording I've recently distributed to some of my close friends...

    No matter.

This is from the 31 July 1971 show at the Crystal Palace Bowl.

An impossibly rare bootleg album that I have a copy of...

Visit my channel and hear the first and original recording of "Skyline Pigeon" by James Roger Cooke. Predates Elton's recording of same on 'Empty Sky' by ten months.
