Dubstep comes from neurofunk and grime, they both have this nasty bass you hear here, dubstep is mixed with that, and 2-beat, which makes it slow, and dance'able, however, amon's music isn't EDM, so it can't therefore be dubstep, even if it were post-something.

Amon Tobin dropped his first EP in the early 90's, long before "dubstep".
Genres are for losers anyways.

It's interesting how Amon Tobin approaches dubstep. He plays with the forms but never really engages into the actual style, probably as it is so popular already and he always experiments with new sounds. He did the same with dnb. He incorporates elements of a particular genre but makes them his own, with his signature soundscapes, instead of simply making a popular song. And he's always looking ahead and trying new stuff, he's so inspiring!
