-Satisfaction; // Prologue.

PROLOGUE.

Joe looked down at his little girl; his heart broke a centimeter with each passing second as he stared at the undeniable resemblance she possessed. Marley Anne Jonas, what an angel she was. Joe used the pad of his thumb to crush a tear that was rolling down his moist cheeks.

Marley was a spitting image of her mother, she was beautiful and gentle, the sweetest thing in the world. At five years old, Marley already seemed as if she could take over the world with no problem. Her pouting face was to die for and she would definitely be a leader in her years to come.

Marley was an accident, a beautiful accident. Selena and Joe had been dating for a few years before she was conceived. We used protection but it broke and a few months later we were staring a tiny pink plus sign in the guest bathroom of her home.

Where is Selena you ask? She is most likely on a flight back to Dallas; she left Joe and Marley in the middle of the night. Joe awoke from a peaceful slumber expecting to have his girlfriend snuggled up next to him but to his dismay he was left with a spot that was previously filled with her sweet presence.

Selena left a note for Joe, addressing her actions. Throughout the letter she kept saying that she was 23 and couldnt handle a baby and since Joe was older Marley would be safer with him. She unfortunately forgot that Joe was only 25 and absolutely could not support a little girl on his own.

His solution? To move closer to his parents. His parents were the first ones he called after he discover Selena left without so much as a goodbye and they were more than happy to have Joe move back to New Jersey, into an apartment nearby so they could help with Marley. Tomorrow Joe and Marley were to take a cross- country trip to Wyckoff, New Jersey.

Marley started to squirm and whine and Joe gasp was almost inaudible as he bent over to cradle her in his strong arms.

"Shh... dont cry, Marls, its okay," Joe whispered in her tiny ear. "Daddys here."

After many attempts later, Joe finally got Marley to settle down and fall asleep. He stared at her from his favorite recliner, his elbows resting on his knees with his chin in his hands. Joe turned away as his heart broke for the millionth time in that hour.

Each time he looked at Marley he would be constantly reminded that the love of his life left them.
