I'm saying this as a republican - This ad exploits 9/11 in a wrong way. I'm pretty sure liberals don't wont wire taps, and personally I can't care less. I don't like that we use fear tactics to get votes but the democrats do the same thing. In some midwestern state, they had that famous stem cell ad (and I am for stem cell research) but not for fear tactics.

Anyway, I really don't see why you guys are so against wiretapping. If you're not doing anything wrong, you should live proudly in the open. Besides, even if you did do something...ah...risque over the phone, the only people that will laugh about it are some people you'll never meet.

It would be like if Dems wanted to cut all the police in a city, and the R mayor warning that if that happens, crime will go up. That doesn't mean he is going to go on a killing spree; he is stating a blatantly obvious fact: if you cut police, you get crime, if you cut programs designed to stop terrorists attacks, you get more terrorist attacks. Do I need to break down more for your small mind?

This ad comes dangerously close to threatening the American people that if they vote for Democrats the President will intentionally allow a terrorist attack. Given the FACTS stated by eightball above about how FISA actually works, the authoritarian, extortionist nature of this advert is more than obvious to thinking people!
