The Ortner-Roberts Duo performs at Schenley Plaza, Pittsburgh PA Fats Waller's Wild Cat Blues.
Not technically a blues but a stompy East Coast ragtime number, which would eventually be described as stride piano. Composed by a young Thomas "Fats" Waller. It was written in honor of the dynamic New Orleans Creole clarinet/soprano sax virtuoso Sidney Bechet. The Wild Cat Blues marked his debut in the recording studios as a member of Clarence Williams Blue Five in 1923.
