@2batswana The voice of Fairnelli was made by the soprano Ewa Malas Godlewska and the countertenor Derek Lee. They mixed there voices in a computer to "re-create" a castratovoice. The male singer Derek Lee have tescticals.

@x0x0wnx0x sopranist countertenor? not mezzo-soprano countertenor?
-
mäh, I don't like his voice. I have to say that his coloraturas on this recording are good, but his voice has not the power of other countertenors.

2wonderful
Does the guy who is playing Farenelli have bolls and is this his real voice? What is his real name?

Just discovered this singer, Philippe Jaroussky, all I can say is WOW! Never ever heard a voice so pure in that range with great clarity. Now I guess I have to go out and get some of his stuff, God! when am I going to stop adding to my already vast collection? Thats the trouble when you discover someone so great and rare as this, you just got to have them in your collection! If an angel came to earth he would sing like this. Sarah Mclachlan is also another angel, 2 voices of heaven!

@ScouttheDoggieFan yes he does have balls, he is just singing a song about a castrato. So yes he does have balls.

@x0x0wnx0x You're right he is not a castrato! The piece he is singing is the story of a Castrato. Just like an actor in a movie playing a murderer is not ACTUALLY a murderer! So he is simply acting the role of a castrato, so to speak. Anyway, hope that clears it up for everyone.
