The Lady is an allegory for human unawareness. It is a hidden meaning the director put into this interview, secretly commenting on the film "room 237".

Also the windy beach stands for the winds of change that are about to happen involving the perception of the Apollo 11 footage.

I saw the film when it first came out, back in 1980, and i was way too young to see it. Did they add any additional scenes, if they did, what were they?

They already did in January. Seeing it in a theater was just amazing. One of the best experiences of my life. Too bad you missed it.
