This improvisation is from the inaugural Performance Laboratory (to be a monthly event) at the Contemporary Art Institute Detroit (CAID). Thank you to the organizers, Emilia Javanica and Carrie Morris. It interlaces narratives of Georgia O'Keefe, Elzada Clover (a botanist), and the century plant (aka the magauy or agave americana) that Elzada brought from Mexico to Michigan.
Unfortunately, the first 1:40 of sound did not get recorded, but the text is pasted below:
"Me, the maguay" (Meredith Monk style)
"In 1933, Georgia O'Keefe was hospitalized for psychoneurosis after not painting for four months" (matter of factly)
