You're partly right. We made Library Cop without knowing anything about Paul Blart, so when it came out we immediately thought we were ripped off! After researching it though, I realize that preproduction on Paul Blart started before we made this. Just a funny coincidence, although it is fun to imagine that Happy Madison saw Bill Hutkins and liked it =)

He didn't get ripped off. Movies take more than 8 months to make, in fact most take 2-4 years to make. If anything he saw something about Paul Blart: Mall Cop and thought it would be funny to do a library cop.

To clarify, we made this video in January 2008 for The Silverscreen Short Film Fest in Columbia, Missouri (Feb. 5). It was uploaded a couple months later.
