Despite the really lousy tip on how to fill a layer with a colour, the tutorial is great! (Seriously, have you never heard of keyboard shortcuts before? Sure they are not very handy in video tutorials, but to fill a background layer by "clicking numerous times to ensure it's all white" is just not a very good tip ^^)

@xBris It wasn't a tip, actually. It was just how I decided to fill the background. I guess it's a question of habits. I use shortcuts for some things but not for others. Thx for the comment.

Did you try clicking on the little arrow to see the different tools available to you? Hold down the shift key and press the W key repeatedly until you get the magic wand tool.
There's no reason why all the tools would not be there. thx.
