The story of the Civil-Rights Movement as seen through the eyes of a teenage Owen Walker (Shannon--THE HURRICANE) growing up in bigotry laden Mississippi in the 1960s at a time when Jim Crow black segregation laws were legal. Owen regrets his father's (Glover--LETHAL WEAPON) passive behavior against racism and joins the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) as they struggle to reeducate black citizens and gain basic human rights, predominately the right to vote. From the writer and director of FIELD OF DREAMS, based on accounts of actual SNCC members.
It takes work in all aspects not just sitting in restaurants but voting, education and health that we needed equal in.

This is one of the most awe inspiring films ever made. It gives me an unspeakable amount of respect for the black community.
