IT IS CONFIRMED. REDSNOW and ULTRASNOW STILL WORK WITH 3.0.1 FIRMWARE THAT WAS JUST RELEASED (08/01/2009)


This update is only for Iphone 2g, Iphone 3g and Iphone 3gS. NO update is available for Ipod Touch Users so far. This new 3.0.1 Firmware is released on short notice just to block that virus that came out today for Iphone users which appearr in our SMS messages as a square shaped block.

Anyways, Thanks to Apple that they have not updated the baseband. IT remains at 04.26.08.
So All Non-legit Iphone users go ahead and you can update your Iphones from 3.0 to 3.0.1 with no danger at all. Because once you update it you can use Redsnow to Jailbreak it and Ultrasnow to Unlock your device successfully.

If after Jailbreaking Iphone 3g or 3gS, you want to Unlock your Iphone 3g/3gS, here is the source you can add it in Cydia "http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com" Here 'o' in Ultrasnow is actually 'zero'. Then install 'Ultrasnow' from Cydia again. Finally shut off your Iphone and Put your Non-legit (T-mobile) sim in it and turn it back on, Wait for 2-3 minutes and finally you will see you T-mobile network on top left of Your Iphone 3g/3gS

Please this is very important that when you open Redsnow you have to put in 3.0 firmware file and not 3.0.1 because Redsnow currently works only with this 3.0, and thats how you are going to jailbreak your Iphones running on 3.0.1 firmwares.

Hi Emac,

I have a 2g iphone. I used Redsnow 0.9.4 with iphone 3.0 firmware to jailbreak my phone. I have tried several times but it gets stuck at the reboot stage (after the upload and the pineapple). It gets to the apple screen and freezes. I have attempted to restore several times and then retry the jailbreak but it keeps getting stuck at the same place. (The phone was stored for a couple years so I'm not sure if it was 3.0 or 3.0.1 when i stopped using it.) Can you help??
