Boot Windows Xp Fast

I show you how to make your computer boot faster.


Follow the following steps

1. Open notepad.exe, type "del c:\windows\prefetch\ntosboot-*.* /q" (without the quotes) & save as "ntosboot.bat" in c:\
2. From the Start menu, select "Run..." & type "gpedit.msc".
3. Double click "Windows Settings" under "Computer Configuration" and double click again on "Shutdown" in the right window.
4. In the new window, click "add", "Browse", locate your "ntosboot.bat" file & click "Open".
5. Click "OK", "Apply" & "OK" once again to exit.
6. From the Start menu, select "Run..." & type "devmgmt.msc".
7. Double click on "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers"
8. Right click on "Primary IDE Channel" and select "Properties".
9. Select the "Advanced Settings" tab then on the device or 1 that doesn't have 'device type' greyed out select 'none' instead of 'autodetect' & click "OK".
10. Right click on "Secondary IDE channel", select "Properties" and repeat step 9.
11. Reboot your computer.

hay i found this atapi.exe file on my xp and a website is saying its a trojan i found it in my dell file in shared documents

t's of course also do to the lousy bus architecture, memory and the main thing is the cheap hard drives apple sends out. Everything plays a part, but their hard drives are the weakest. Try an SSD, and it would change some of it. My system was about 16 seconds with a standard HD. -- So macs are faster than cheap, junk pc's, but in pcland you can always find higher end, faster ones and they still cost less.

The only reason it took over a minute and 45 sec is because it IS a mac and they have the slowest hardware, but hard headed owners who think it's the fastest. My computer takes 9 seconds to load windows, and 4 to shutdown. I have an i7 @4ghz pc. It only cost $750 and would beat this guys mac at everything, including video rendering which would be cut in 1/2 due to the i7. No wonder mac users are annoyed, they try to load windows through a mac based pc which is lousy core2duo.
