Most AMC viewers thought AMC stopped the dissolving of the music with the debut of the current opening, but one day in June 2004 the show tried to work with it, but it didn't last to my knowledge this was the only day AMC featured dissolving music to the current opening.

  • This is from July 21, 2004.

  • Oh, OK maybe you're right, just as I was writing this message, I was remembering something that this theme comes right after I recorded the August 1988 update of Another World's opening and by that time soapnet had us one month ahead with AW episodes, so I think your right.

  • your wrong, they used it this more than once i know one instance when greenlee and ryan were talking and they married out of convienince but fell for each other ryan was telling greenlee how he wanted to tell her something about her, and she said what and he said, "the way i feel" and the intro beat was on Greenlee's face as you saw her reaction before going to opening :) it always did that for Greenlee...wonder why

  • Carmaker, could you post this opening if you have it?

  • cool

  • This scene also helps. Made it more suspenseful. I just think it worked better with the Scrapbook opening IMO. That version of the theme preserved the introductory notes at the beginning and the teaser notes just continued into the opening. Reminiscent of the way they did it in the 90's. The remixed version of the theme masks the introductory notes with an electric guitar accompaniment. Much as I like the remixed version of the theme, it just doesn't have the same effect.

  • Wow I think it worked out pretty well, it gave the intro more of the upbeat sound it sort of lacks...

  • I remember this episode. They attempted to use the teaser notes for the current opening. Didn't work out very well IMO (for the gold opening it worked beautifully). I guess they thought the same thing. Never heard them again.

I noticed in recent episodes, for the most part, the BGM in the last teaser scene ends with a chord similar to the introductory notes in the opening.
