This Exceed RC F4 Phantom (see this nitroplanes link) http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-3235026-10507606
is very pleasing for me to see and fly.

My MOS in the Marine aviation field was 6646, Avionics Specialist and Electrician.
My planes.? The RF4B Phantom.

Our RF4B (R stands for reconnaissance) were electronically sophisticated for the time, with nothing but their cameras for a weapon.

RF4Bs were sleek and carried FLR and SLR and DLR in the nose among other ways of seeing the enemy in the Nam with infrared heat photography.

It was an exciting time for me in the Marine corps and I would love to get in the back seat again and go for a ride.

This Phantom from Exceed RC, which I got from Nitoplanes is a very nicely made kit. It is best to fly this on grass fields, because it is easily scratched up on hard surfaces.

I like it a lot and I will be flying it more, so stay tuned.

Thanks for watching and thanks to any RF4B Military folks for serving

Dave

  • I think you are a little to hot on the landings, the little foam plane will slow down, its light and floaty.

  • I love the real one with the twin turbines. The sound they make is awesome and so powerful. I think top speed of this plane was like 1500mph. I have seen a low pass by one at 700 and it was a sight to see.

  • its funny!

  • I'm an Air Cadet in Calgary, Alberta , Canada (52 Sqn) , and I am a huge fan of planes! This is epic! How much did it cost?

  • Great video and great airplane. I worked F4N's for 3 yrs before transition to Hornets. those were those were some of the best yrs I had in my 25 yrs of Marine Corps Aviation. I was in VMFA-531 from 78-81. My brother-in-law spent some time in P-3 in the mid to late 70's. Thanks for the dedication. Semper Fi.

  • thats some really nice flying.

  • I was in VMCJ-1 and VMCJ-3 working on these planes. Was in J-3 at El Toro in 66-67 and in J-1 in Danang 67-68....Vince where and when were you in the RF-4B world?

  • Very nice. This is on my Christmas list. Oh mother...... Lol.
