Google Tech Talk (more info below)
June 1, 2011

Presented by Scott Davidoff, Ph.D.

ABSTRACT

This talk describes how my work with busy families:
(1) identifies how their coordination breaks down (from 3 years of fieldwork and experience prototyping)
(2) Identifies how we can apply unsupervised machine learning to this problem context (using mobile phone GPS)
(3) Creates a new way to visualize the calendar that combines manually input and learned information

  • Look at 9:15 -- the new app translates a family's plan into a compact visual form.

  • BRAVE NEW WORLD

  • @LiquidZ2k I see where your coming from personally I think its quite humerus that there is a product manager at AOL named John Lenon. I know you probably only clicked the video for the information not to waste your time with introductions. To each his/her own :-)

  • This is such a boring presenter, and his start does not motivate me to listen at all.

It takes 6 minutes before he even starts to go on about what he is going to talk about.

  • Ten hour work-week is a much better idea in 21th century. Parents would actually be with their kids instead of "inventing" another crap service or product trying desperately to survive. We already are in a vicious cycle of servicing vicious cycles of economic life that long ceased to be economic and is in fact anti-economic. Stop feeding this mutant.
