  • With all due respect to the person who gave him the compliment about being kind and a gentlemen, then if he is truly that, then he needs to step forward and retract his statement about replacing Ringo on Beatles records[As another poster stated Purdie NEVER replaced Ringo on any Beatles record, only a few Pete Best songs.I think if he's sincere he should also aplogize for his remarks.

  • (...continuing from previous comment:) In response, I once put an outgoing answering message on my machine that had me in a 'Pretty Purdie' accent saying, "Hi! I'm Bernand Purdie! No one can answer the phone right now, so wait for the beep and you can record a message. Then, I'll tell everybody AYE recorded it!"

  • This guy is a great drummer but a very confused person. Known for being a bit of a storyteller, he has been claiming that he was asked by Beatles manager Brian Epstein to come in and re-record dozens of Ringo Starr's drum parts on classic mid 60s Beatles recordings, in secret, of course. The truth is he was asked by Polydor Records to re-record the drum parts on various early 60s Tony Sheridan recordings, many of which originally had The Beatles with Pete Best on them. (Read my next comment.)

  • Doesn't he have a Bluetooth piece in his ear? Yet....he answers the actual phone. HMMMM..... :O)

  • 'Thank you, dude'??

How about 'Thank you, Groove God and Jedi Master.' : p

  • @hinchman12 yeah, for all you know it is Solomon Burke calling him to ask if he stole his fried chicken.

  • I just asked if there was anyone cooler than Stanton Moore under another video. Here's my answer.

  • hitting the nail on the head.. "just have fun"

  • I really like how he's so genuine and kind about delivering such vital message. And I love how he's actually telling whoever's calling him to 'hold on' as he delivers it. The true spirit of a musician and gentleman!
