This song is absolutely not from an anonymous. It is by the french trouvère Guillaume d'Amiens or Le Pegneur (the painter) from the late 13° century. The account on his life is included in a taxpayers list of Amiens (1301). This trouvère belonged to the Arras trouvère school. This song is formerly a monophonic tune encountered in the "Chansonnier Vaticana Apostolica" but this current version come from a 3 voices motteto of the Montpellier medicine faculty library manuscript arranged later (1490)
