@AlfyLanger20 I would prefer to win 3 Melbourne cups as well, but the Cox Plate is obv more based on skill/power and less on handicap. That being said, I guess it was a pretty big victory (particularly the third win) considering how much weight they mounted on her.

Our second daughter was born the day after the 2003 Melbourne Cup - I was stoked Makybe Diva won - she was a Mum like me! And then she did it all over again in '04 and '05 :o)

A shame? Its a shame that he tried to fix races for more money that greedy little prick.. Its harsh he went to jail for it. BUT .. hes a little shit a shifty bugger! Hes learnt tho from that.

What happened chris munce i was living in Oz at this time and he was a favourite of mine at the time, rememeber he was on dance hero in the slipper and hacked up that day, drink all day and night

Chris Munce rode Zagalia a treat...I was on her and at the time I was disappointed, but when you look at the whole race, he had to contend with barrier 24 and was more of a backmarker, so to ride her to a close up 5th was outstanding...it is a shame that he is in jail.

The only horse I think is better than her is Phar Lap, coz he won 2 cox plates. But she's the best horse in our lifetime for sure. :)
