Of course his philosophy is universal.
Iranians are not trying to limit Rumi's poems to themselves,but in order to prove Jesus and Budha's philosophy are universal,u dont have to deny the culture they were influenced by.How is Rumi different?

I find a striking similarity between Great Rumis poem and the vedic/hindu philisophy of non-dualism; ie; the oneness between the creator and his creations or that same divine energy which flows through all of us, be it humans or other animals and most importantly realisaton of this fact is called enlightment or state of awakening....indeed Rumi is such one
