Tuning: DADEAD
Capo: 7

Hopefully this helps. When I made that how to a year ago I was just using Em C G D chords with a capo on the second. I lacked the full appreciation for him, the song, and just how psycho and creepy the song itself is. But now at least you can try and play it the right way!

Let me know if there's anything unclear in this video, or anything you want to suggest/disagree with. Hope it helps!

  • you subbed my 7th grade history class 4 years ago at archer and you brought your guitar to my school and played for some of the high schoolers and i thought you were really cool. and here you are covering my favorite musician

  • @KenDoll223 hahaha I remember that. that was a fun job. i remember doing beirut and sufjan and bon iver and a few of the kids knew who they were, and i was bummed I had to go back to brentwood after that.

  • @cougarman8 brentwood sucks, everyone at archer loves beirut, sufjan, and bon iver

  • @KenDoll223 but this was 4 years ago! none of them (cept sufi) were big yet. I don't even think Bon Iver's album was even out...got a request?

  • dude thanks a ton. this really taught me how to play the song well...now i just need to focus on the strumming haha

  • loving the smile at the end lol

  • Thank you So much. What an excellent tutorial. I learned it in one night and now play it often. Thank you.

  • @cougarman8 I don't know if anyone has said this yet, but the song is about a serial killer. He gets into a relationship with a woman, but he's afraid that the people that know about him will tell her and ruin it. So, as soon as someone gets close to telling her, he kills them and buries them in his garden... the same garden that grow his flowers. As an added bit of irony, he happens to give her the flowers he grows. And now you know.

  • 0:23 for dadead strum

  • this is wayyyy fast. Slow down a little and it would be easier.. I have to use a clip of the tallest man playing this at the same time to actually learn this song..

  • dude. you miss a whole part on the chorus on how to play it.

  • Dallas?
