With a truck that couldn't make it up the hill, and impatient drivers cluttering the road, many worked together to get the road cleared and the truck on its way. I was directing traffic, as cars were trying to pass the stalled truck. I was afraid there was going to be an accident! I have often lauded our Emergency Crews, but these guys all expended time, gas, and energy in helping the trucker out. They really know what they are doing! I was fascinated with their expertise! The snow was cleared and things are nearly back to normal after schools were closed for 3 days.

  • Oh wow. You'd think the stores and such would be inaccessible with that much snow. I heard from a relative that recently the snow melted though.

  • It is meltling, but there is much slush. The roads themselves are fabulous in most parts of our region. The lake hasn't melted!

  • Isn't it fun though a little when ppl come out to enjoy the insanity!!

  • It is true! Everyone was laughing, supervising, and helping, except for the drivers in a hurry! The important thing is the safety. People just understand that everything stops!

  • That is a lot of snow so far! Hopefully the area gets a bit of a break from it for a while.

  • Sunny and cold today! It could be worse!

  • Port Carling is lovely.

Of course, I have never been there in the winter but the summer is fantastic.

  • @19pink19 same with me first time seeing snow up there. when my grandparents where looking for a cottage it was in the winter time. when they finally found ours the snow was so high. that it fully buried it.
