This is the 1989 remix of Oxygene IV from the famous album. The original made the top 5 in the UK singles chart in the 70's, but this remix only made No. 65. A pity, as i like it more than the original. You only really notice its a remix from about 1 min in when the new sounds come in. Ripped from my own 7" vinyl. I often wonder if their was an actual video shot for this release ...
Only notice from about 1 minute? lol you notice immidiately that it's a whole diferrent production with all the strings around. This was a promotion for the 89 Revolution tour, later released as "Jarre Live".
Not sure if there's a video for this remix, but there is one from the 70's with the penguins.

There was a video for this release, features lots of penquins at the north pole.
Not a fan Jarre anymore since the 80's but I still listen to his early work from time to time. The original is better in my view too - the keyboard used for the main melody isn't anaolgue - doesn't have that warm sound to it at all. Thanks for the upload though.

It was released as single and in fact this version was used on the "Live" album (a.k.a. Destination Docklands)...

If this is Jarre's remix of his own music, then maybe it was "missing" from the original, but having listened to the original for so many years, the sirens just don't "fit," at least to my ears. Neither is "better" than the other, just different. Like any remix...
