@serenenz well probably Ana Porgras just because I think she has an extremely classic look in gymnastics, floor especially. If she is able to upgrade her vault and clean up a bit on bars and beam she will be extremely competitive. I enjoyed Cerasela in 2007 but I'm not sure how she'll be after her recovery. I agree with you about Raluca.
gabby is cute isn't she. I am surprised she recovered and is looking to train to compete but happy for her. From the quad that is out now who is your favourite gymnast? The girls Ana Porgras, Raluca haidu, Amelia racea, Diana Chelaru plus cerasela wll be euros (cerasela is from the old quad - she has managed to stay in). I love Porgras who reminds me of the old style romanian gymnast but lately Raluca haidu has been making a name for herself.
@serenenz Good. To be honest gabriela was my favorite romanian gymnast at the 2008 olympics. I feel like she represented the way of romanian gymnastics from earlier in the decade.
Did u hear that Gabriela has recovered from her surgery and looks to be back on her way to training? I heard today that coach Forminte gave a short interview at Rom Internationals competition that she looks to be recovering and possible return. Sandra Izbasa also competed this past weekend on BB at Rom Internationals - it was actually a BB demostration but I think she was proving the point that she has NO plans to retire . Go Sandra, Go Gabriela.
Actually both Gabby and Anamaria are out for Euros as they are still coming back from recent surgeries. It is a shame that they look likely to retire soon but one can hope they might come back and have an amazing career. I belive they were both out of shape last year at Nationals and were struggling as well. We will have to see - the Romanian team for Euros this year is Ana Porgras, Diana Chelaru, Amelia Racea, Raluca Haidu and Cerasela Patrascu .
@serenenz i also read though that Nicolae Forminte thinks that both tamirjan and dragoi are overweight and won't let them compete at the european championships. I think that he's being absolutely ridiculous.

Gabby won bronze at the Euros in the BB event finals. Tamarjan won silver in the BB finals. Both are upcoming rising stars - the Romanians will be fine - look at the amazing Juniors they have in the system. Amelia Racea is amazing. Diana Bulimar, Larissa Lordache, Raluca Haidu has the most beautiful form seen on UB for a long time - give them time. Their time to shine on top of the podium will come again.
