Chiropractic care has been thought of mostly for the treatment of neck and back problems. That is not the case. Chiropractors can help with any problem that is related to the function of the body. In this post we will discuss Temporal Mandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJ).
TMJ occurs when the disc becomes displaced or when the surrounding muscles and tendons become inflamed.
TMJ: Symptoms * Pain and tenderness around the joint directly in front of your ear * The opening and closing of the mouth will become difficult or painful * A grinding or crunching sound when an individual opens or closes their mouth
TMJ: What a Chiropractor can do for you.
Chiropractic treatment can be very effective for patients with TMJ. Before treatment a Chiropractor will perform a full spinal analysis focusing on the upper neck and evaluating the jaw joint. A chiropractor can help with treating TMJ in two main ways. First of all by providing Chiropractic Adjustments to the upper neck or jaw. Secondly, by recommending exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle changes to help speed recovery and prevent a relapse. A key point to remember is the longer one waits to see a chiropractor for treatment, the longer the recovery time.
@nickodemus15 Oh, the arrogance of traditional "doctors"...

FYI: surgery is very rarely used in the treatment of TMD today. And please: the disorder is "TMD" (temperomandibular disorder). The joint is the "TMJ" (temperomandibular joint). "TMJ" implies no pathology.

Is this a joke? I am a dental student and have taken entire classes on the TMJ and the treatment of its asociated disorders. I doubt if chiropractors learn a single thing about the TMJ in their "school." It sure does not sound like it. If this "doctor" can actually get the kind of results he claims as simply as he makes it sound, he would be world famous. This is nothing but ignorance coming out of a self-proclaimed "expert."
